Shorty Story 02:34
Young girl was only 16 And her momma use to tell her to go to sleep with big dreams Put ya mind to it you can do big things She had big plans to be on the big screen Yeah she wanted to be an actress Everyday she took time out to practice She aint have enough money for a coach Honestly she barely had money for a coat So everyday she would come home after school Gotta deal with her step pops attitude And her momma wanna do something But to avoid getting beat, she sit there and do nothing No one man should have that power But that's not a man right there that's a coward But see shorty aint giving up And every time she get knocked down she keep on getting up It don't stop her it make her go harder She know the hard work gone push her to go farther Got a lil job start saving up her money Some of her friends saying she starting to act funny Nah she just got a lil plan Still going forward just doing what she can Still no pops there to give her a hand And she can't find that dealing with a younger man Damn, she started dealing with this D-boy old head street boy that can't be good news She done had a lil baby tryna get back on her feet but she can't find good shoes See the moral of the story is Everybody even you know who shorty is See the moral of the story is Everybody even you know who shorty is

about

As an artist, you know you only get one chance at a debut album. Whether it's Indie or Mainstream your first official album usually reflects the timeline of when you first had thoughts of being an artist up until your current point in life. When Internal Quest came to me with the idea for this album my goal wasn't to bring back an old sound but it was to bring back an old feel...an old vibe...The feel and vibe that made me fall in love with hip hop. I just wanted it to be about the Music...Lyrics...Flow...Concepts...Stories...My Story.. My Struggles..My Pain...My happiness and My Thoughts.

You only get one chance at a first impression. I just hope that I impress you enough to keep you around for the journey. Broadway Blake - BROADWAY EMPIRE album releases November 13, 2012
